Balance forklifts

Balance forklifts are actually industrial machines for lifting and moving heavy weight goods from one place to another. The use of forklift trucks has increased since World War II. Fuels like gasoline, CNG, propane, diesel, lead-acid battery and the fuel cell can be used in these machines. There are two or three axles in balance forklifts.

TYPES OF FORKLIFT TRUCKS

Counterbalance forklift trucks have a counterbalance design and are the most common types of forklift trucks. They have forks protruding from the front of the truck. Three Wheel Counterbalance forklift trucks are similar to Counterbalance forklift trucks, but the only difference is that they have a single drive wheel in the rear center of the vehicle which provides better maneuverability and productivity.
Reach trucks reach the racking with their forks, and hence the name. They are exclusively designed for warehouse purposes and provide maneuverability. They are generally used for indoor functions. Then, there are other types of trucks like Hand Pallet trucks, Powered Pallet trucks, Sideloaders and Teletrucks.

SAFETY ISSUES WITH FORKLIFTS

Being heavy machines, forklift trucks need to be used very carefully to avoid or prevent any sort of damage to the people or the business. Any small mistake can incur unimaginable losses. The operator should be aware of the load capacity of the machine as well as of the load to be carried out to ensure proper outcomes.
Only professionally trained people should be employed as the operators of these machines. Also, operators should be very cautious and aware while operating these trucks. Vehicles that are malfunctioning should be immediately replaced and appropriate attachments should be used for the forklift trucks.
Moreover, repair or maintenance tasks should not be performed in combustible environments. And, flammable substances should not be used for cleansing purposes. Space, where maintenance is done, should be properly ventilated and regular safety checks should be performed on the vehicles.

CHECKLIST FOR POWERED FORKLIFTS

Before operating a forklift, certain parts should be checked if they are in an appropriate state for proceeding further. Some of them are attachments, battery connections, battery charge, control levers, backup alarm, engine oil, forklift body, motor, overhead guard, radiator, steering, turn signal, etc.
